Purchase it. It won't activate because your friend has already activated it on their computer. You can't activate it on a second computer. You'll need to get your own key.
Try downloading and installing OpenOffice. It's a free, legal, open source office suite with similar functionality.
Unless you hack it, there's no way around activating it. Save yourself the trouble, either buy it or use a free suite such as openoffice.
Buy a legal copy of your own...or use OpenOffice.org (free download).
