zune isnt really compatible with iTunes but you can transfer all your music from iTunes to the zune software[except the itunes locked music(the ones you bought from itunes)] where u put da music. zune is better quality and i think it lasts just as the ipod i would go with the zune
Zune has a much bigger screen, easy to use wmp like program. It's a lot better than Ipod. I used to have one.
As far as I know, Zune is not compatable with iTunes. Both will last about the same amount of time (they will both be outdated before they stop working). As far as quality, they both seem to be fairly equivalent. I personally prefer the iPod, but it is more a matter of personal prefenence than anything else.

I myself have the iPod classic and i have to say the zune is better with its new touch sensitive controls, bigger screen, and theres the fact that people have bypassed the 3 play rule for shared songs
